Restricting Comments and Shaping

Firstly - Apologies to the rare anonymous commenters who have left appreciative comments. Unfortunately, because of a person called Jason - whose comment I deleted as it was trying to encourage me to visit a site that requires payments; whose links I did not follow  - I have restricted comments to those who are Google bloggers or those with Open ID. Open ID allows those with a Typepad, Wordpress etc blogs to comment and for me to be able to reply or to visit their blog if I wish. Just like I can with Google bloggers.
I left a reply for Jason under the post he commented on and if he wishes to become a follower and also apologises for leaving unsolicited free advertising on my blog he is welcome. However he will be blocked if he "tries it on" again as will anyone else who is thinking of trying to make money out of MY hobby!

Advice from friends is different :D.

As tomorrow is the start of a new month I'll be able to post some more photos as the shaping won't be in operation anymore. Thanks for your patience.

Cheers,
Robyn

New Word Verification - bah!

Photos later but I'm posting this on my blogs as it really annoys me and I'm not normally one to post whinges on my blogs!

Thanks to The Run*A*Round Ranch for use of this image and also thanks to The Crafter'sApprentice for the post that helped me locate it.

I haven't been on blogger for about 5 days and then I'm faced with having to decipher gobbledegook - two lots of it - when I do leave comments on some blogs! I use satellite broadband because that is all I can have in rural Australia, apart from dial-up - which translates to 'useless' here, so it is quite expensive and also regulated by weather changes as extensive cloud cover or electrical storms can render it inoperable. Therefore my online time has limits to it that I don't like to waste. I didn't mind word verification previously and I can understand bloggers not wanting spam and not wanting to moderate their blogs but this latest stunt by Blogger is ridiculous. I'm joining the above blogs in the protest against the new word verification as I can't always decipher them and it wastes my time and my patience.
Please join us by removing Word Verification from your blog.

To remove WORD VERIFICATION:
From blogger DASHBOARD click on SETTINGS, then click on COMMENTS and scroll down almost to the bottom of the page where you will find Show word verification for comments? Select the No option.
If you are concerned about spam then select one of the Comment Moderation options in the section above the word verification section. I did.
Alternatively you can select Registered Users option at the top of the COMMENTS page beside the WHO CAN COMMENT?

Either or both should protect you from spam or unwanted anonymous comments.

Robyn

Trip to Sydney

47/366
After overnighting at parents house, so I could have an early start, I was treated to Maggie hopping in the door for a bit of breakfast.

48/366
ROXETTE!
Sydney Entertainment Centre - Friday 17.02.2012
Fluked this one as I was trying to catch the drummer, Pelle, when the picture on the screen started changing. I didn't know until after I'd taken it as the shutter speed was about 20. Couldn't have managed a better shot if I'd planned it :D

49/366
I took the photo of this clock from outside the hotel, not realising this was the Central Station Clock until I arrived there to catch the train home. Great Landmark!

50/366
Being a bit tired to remember to take photos on Sunday I thought I'd put in a couple of "Views from the train". Considering the time these were taken I think it's around Wingham. I'd not long woken up :). Pity the windows were so grotty or I could have had some nice pics.

Hope you enjoyed these!
Robyn :)

Works in Progress

44/366
Playing around with die cuts and card making.

45/366
Two of my favourite girls - granddaughter on left and youngest daughter on right - monkeys up the tree!

46/366
My "Horse Whisperer" at work teaching a youngster to lead alongside. His cohort is my appaloosa cross gelding.

All the above were taken on autofocus and no picture editing was done.

Thanks for looking,
Robyn

Mousing...this photo not for those with weak stomachs!

366/43

Ginger wasn't happy with kibbles for breakfast so she found her own meal. We never need to use rat poison here! I used the camera's 'sunset' option but still had to use the auto-correct on the software as the overcast conditions made puss look a motley black/brown.

Cheers,
Robyn

Sunny Afternoons

366/41

It's reached the stage where even the ducks enjoy some sunshine and warmer conditions.

Lucy also prefers having dry feathers occasionally.

Landscapes

39/366

I always like the way the fog makes the trees on the hilltop look ‘ghostly’. I sometimes think I might see the apparition of a long dead bushranger or stockman under them!

40/366

I’ve been meaning to play with the panorama setting again for ages and I think I’ve matched this up better than any previous efforts. View is from the farm entrance gate.

Robyn

A bit of this, a bit of that...

366.36
Can’t beat this stuff for flavour….and kilojoules :P

366.37
A new type of spider! Later clarification - my hand is behind the spider on it's web to show it up clearly for the photo. The spider is not directly on my hand and I think the autofocus lost the spider a bit amongst all the wrinkles - LOL!

366.38
Birds on a wire. I had to take this one as they are arranged in a pattern and there’s half as much on the ‘borders’, a bit like quilting J. Not sure if the bird above is supervising the layout?!

Cheers,
Robyn

On the Road Again

The paddocks are still slushy so I’ve stuck to walking along the roads again. Amazing what visual delights you actually notice when you have a camera in your hand and play with the aperture.
Lol, brings out the artist in us ‘non painters’!

32/366

After all the storms and wind this tree gave in and crashed into a nearby one. Notice the branch still stuck in the standing tree.

33/366

This is an error as I had the aperture set at F5.6 so I would obtain the natural colours but the speed then dropped to 1/7 second. I’m going to keep this photo of my favourite nemesis (orange flowered lantana and hayfever – achoo!) to print out as a scrapping background paper for farm photos because it smudged so perfectly :D.

34/366

The quartz amongst the other rock sparkled and looked like tiny gems along the roadside.

35/366
And of course exercise makes one hungry so I made these last night and fiddled with the camera settings and reading light till I had a photo that looked like what I had cooked. Taken on incandescent white balance setting in Aperture Priority mode and I edited by upping the saturation a little. Fluorescent settings made the bread look orange.

Having so much fun learning to use my camera and enjoying looking at other's photos.

Cheers,
Robyn
